Midnight Cinderella

BEFORE LEAVING MY PAST

Before leaving my past,
I'll open the door of my heart,
I'll throw the key in the grass
Because I already know
I'll never be back: so, I must...

Before leaving my past,
My clothes will be thrown;
My jewelry and my shoes
They all will be gone...
Going naked to the unknown.

Before leaving my past,
A magical spell I will cast
With my name in midnight.
I will cover my innocent self
With invisible vale of the moonlight
—that's right!

Before leaving my past,
I must touch with my hands
The sunrise coming tomorrow
Having no regrets and no sorrows
But today... I am just one night away...

I’ll throw the key in the grass…

I AM NOT YOUR GINNY SLAVE

I sent the wind
To hug you instead of me;
To whisper softly on your shoulder
And stretch your wings.

I sent the birds across the ocean
To sing in bliss.
I asked the breeze
To wake you up in this gloomy morning.

I asked the sun to burst in fire
And light your day.
But don’t be spoiled because I’ve done it,
I am not your Ginny slave.

MIDNIGHT CINDERELLA
(from my ‘Cest la vie’ series)

Like a midnight Cinderella I lost my sleeper
Running fast from the midnight bar
Because you cannot handle your liquor.

You were blinking like cosmic quasar,
Wobbling head, bubbling words
And explaining to me that I’m your universe.

I lost my sleeper and I neglected the other;
So, the stairs were easy… Oh, brother, brother!
Please don’t search for me!
C’est la vie, Mon Ami!

WAITING FOR ME IN THE CORNER

I know you are there,
Waiting for me in the corner;
My steps are getting faster
And stronger;
I can hear your heart beat,
I can see your smile.

I know you are there,
Waiting for me in the corner;
Where the citrus trees
Are blooming in massive proportions—
Serenaded by the dancing bees.

I can see…
Oh, I can see all emotions
On your face,
But I’m still in a hurry,
To ask you (just in case):
Are you waiting for me?

Make a Wish

I’D LIKE TO EXCHANGE

“I love you!”
—It sounds like a cheating—
Cheating on me, cheating on you…

“I love you!”—
There is no meaning. There is no sense.
Where is the feeling in this old cliché?

I just keep my heart in my hands…
Here… next to my chest—
Opened, simple, and shy…

I‘d like to exchange
For the same—
For a heart that is simple,
Pure and mine.

I don’t ask for too much, do I?

DON’T TELL ME

Don’t tell me I am beautiful;

Don’t tell me I am strong;

Just tell me you will comfort me

In my uncomfort zone

When I am weak and tired

And energy is gone;

When make-up’s not required,

Or neither silicon;

When high heels are not needed

And polished manicure,

And sleepers are the only ones

That soothe me on the tours

Between the kitchen cabinets,

The fridge, the stove, the mail…

Just tell me you will comfort me

In those unpleasant days.

Then we can walk together
Connected hand-in hand.
