A spring full of sun
on the tail of the peacock—
how it sparkles!

When the eyes
of hawks are darkened—
quails call

A pheasant's tail
very gently brushes
the violets

A thin layer of snow
coats the wings of mandarin ducks—
such stillness!

Heads held high,
cormorants are swimming
up the swift current

—Roka

Trampling on clouds,
inhaling the mist,
the skylark soars
