in a jeepney
hot and dusty
a maiden alight off
in Ìró and Bùbá
 
 
 
 


fertilised egg delicacy
the street food vendor
shouts loot bah-LOOT
a happy child does
the chicken dance
 
 
 


party and songs
it’s Friday at the
next house
mo gbó mo yà
two boys
 
 
 
 

chicken adobo
friends get together
for a favourite dish
living room stereo
playing Afro-Jùjú
 
 
 
 

the naturalised foreigner
in a Pinoy coffee shop
one leg on the stool
Íjè-áwéle
a faint whisper
