EVENING SONG
porcelain robot eyes
cry real tears
while the sky
tears itself to shreds…
red and black shadows
walk across fading fields…
lemon yellow fingers
touch the
steel lips of somebody’s
dying god…
EVENING SONG #2
tree branches like fingers
linger
in the haze of a dull red sky…
mountains ask the black painted sand, “why
should we care about monkey fingers?”
the horizon between
strip mall stores
hangs mute…
EVENING SONG #3
the deep red sky cries
porcelain tears… tiny
robots dance in the
radioactive
rain…
synthetic opioids take away all of the pain…
the terrible sky is leaving while
tomorrow
is weaving the black painted
warp and dusky woof into a
day that is
yet to come…
ON SPARROWS (in summer at the Outlet Mall)
tiny gray, brown, black children
of dinosaurs peck
between
the pavers in the outdoor
food court…
shoppers stride by, gorgeous apes in shorts and tee shirts…
the breath of somebody’s
dying god
kisses prairie grass
which waves in
concrete
planters…
Today’s LittleNip:
Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.
