Tonight!

Be at The Book Collector tonight at 7:30pm to hear Joyce Odam read from her new book, Caught Against the Years, illustrated by her daughter, Charlotte Vincent.

I've decided Joyce is the reincarnation of Adelaide Crapsey. Check out these cinquains:

NIGHT WINDS
—Adelaide Crapsey

The old
Old winds that blew
When chaos was, what do
They tell the clattered trees that I
Should weep?

NOVEMBER NIGHTS
—Adelaide Crapsey

Listen...
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing hosts,
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees
And fall.

THE WARNING
—Adelaide Crapsey

Just now,
Out of the strange
Still dusk... as strange, as still...
A white moth flew... Why am I grown
So cold?
